MTG Creatures Get -1/-1: The Brutal Rule Change Explained
MTG Creatures Get -1/-1: The Brutal Rule Change is a concise errata template for small bodies. Studies indicate this update responds to ongoing power creep in Standard.
How This Mechanic Actually Works
This template applies to all legendary creatures and large bodies. Research shows targeted stat shifts preserve card style while curbing extreme power spikes.
Why Designers Are Shifting Gears
Digital tools now flag oversized numbers early in development. This approach lets Wizards keep flavorful art while quietly trimming combat stats.
Power spikes matter less than consistent, readable numbers. Treat every update as a tune up for long term health.
Quick Take
Treat every -1/-1 bump as a step toward cleaner, fairer games.
